"There comes a point in time where everything - every society, every city, every establishment and government - just falls into chaos. Fights erupt on the streets, buildings fall, governments are overthrown. There is confusion and despair. People get hurt. It's anarchy in practice. And it happens. It's right around the corner; a partner with death, in essence.
It descended across the globe during the apocalypse. Our world, diseased and dying from our waste, began generating noxious chemicals into the air. The plants started to either die, mutate, or evolve in order to survive. The animals simply mutated. They became hideous creatures, most of them with their skin turned inside out and pulsing muscles formed. Others gained hideous features and countless extraordinary abilities. As for humans? Well, those without gas masks or supplies of clean oxygen began to go mad, slowly transforming into hideous creatures all their own. Governments around the world were overthrown. People searched everywhere for a cure and a way to live. The cure was attainable.
However, slowly settlements within large protected areas began to pop up. Those unaffected by the chemicals were allowed in. The people established order and all was peaceful in this post-apocalyptic world.
Mankind's end began at a settlement called Ragnarok.
